Good to meet you!

Color photograph of Sarah Pawlicki. She is a white person with short brown hair, wearing a purple shirt with a white floral pattern. She is looking down and to her right, and is grinning. She is standing in front of a small Japanese maple tree.

I’m a public historian, passionate about education and reparation.

About Me

My Approach

Interdisciplinary

I have collaborated on projects focused on women’s histories, LGBTQ+ histories, disability histories, Indigenous histories, Black histories, and Asian American histories. I believe all struggles for justice are interconnected.

Storytelling

History can offer us insight into ourselves, our communities, and our world. Creative storytelling is key to ensuring that history reaches people, opens their minds, and touches their hearts.

Engaged

History is political. Censorship denies underrepresented communities of their right to a usable past.

Painting Bread and Roses by Mike Alewitz. The art is abstract, showing a purple hand against a golden yellow background. Color blocks form a rose and a loaf of bread that are asymetrically woven together.
