Teaching

It is key to meet students where they are, demonstrating to students that we all belong in the classroom. True inclusion questions and decenters dominant, oppressive structures of power, a vital goal at the core of my constructed pedagogy.

I try to empower students through a “yes, and…” pedagogy. Through “yes, and…” teaching, we can affirm students’ original insights and encourage them to pursue their individual lines of thinking, recommending resources and new insights to help them build on their own curiosities.

“Affirming. Offered direct, supportive feedback with clear examples. Transparent, humble, generous, and genuine.”
